Over the life of a home, built-in energy efficiencies can save vast amounts of energy and money.

An average home that's not built green produces twice the amount of greenhouse gas emissions as the typical car. Energy Star homes, however, can keep 4,500 pounds or more of greenhouse gasses out of the air each year. Multiply this amount times the life of the home, and the impact on the environment is significant.

If you're building a luxury custom home from scratch, now's the time to build in energy conservation features.

Every home we build is an Energy Star home. We hire an independent energy consultant to produce a comprehensive pre-construction report that estimates your annual energy usage, savings, and emissions. Once your home is ready to occupy, the energy consultant returns to complete a finalized report.

These energy reports include information on:
. Energy use (heating, cooling, water heating, lights, and appliances)
. Air leakage (whole house infiltration, duct leakage to the outside, and ventilation)
. Annual energy costs
. Energy features (ceilings, floors, walls, windows, foundation, and framing)
. Emissions (Carbon Dioxide, Sulfur Dioxide, and Nitrogen Oxides)
